Personalization Makes Shoppers Say Yes

Car buyers want an uninterrupted buying experience; interruptions can be annoying when it’s an offer meant for someone else.

Imagine walking into a dealership, looking for that new car you’ve already made your mind up on. You spot it across the showroom floor, take one step towards it and -BAM- the service technician cuts you off and shoves a flyer in your face for a 10% discount on a timing belt change.

Then they try to sell you on a limited-time offer. You step aside, say no thank-you, and continue on your path to the shiny new car.

One step later, the used car manager shakes your hand, tells you all about the really great sale on all pre-owned inventory: “You can get a $500 gas card today only on pre-owned.” You didn’t ask for it, you gave no indication you were there for that purpose… So, again, no thank-you.

Consider how customers feel when they arrive at a website homepage and get immediately hit with irrelevant offers. How much better would it be if what they got instead was not only relevant, but it happened at the right time? Elena has been with sMedia as part of the billing team for 7 years. She was born and raised in Kumanovo, North Macedonia, and still lives there today with her husband and two children.
