sMediaBot is our automated crawler that retrieves publicly available vehicle inventory data from dealership websites for the sole purpose of:
- Generating accurate vehicle advertising campaigns
- Synchronizing inventory listings with paid media platforms
- Preventing inaccurate ads for sold or unavailable vehicles
Identification
Our crawler identifies itself with the following user-agent:
User-Agent: smediabot/1.0 (+https://smedia.ca/bot-info)
IP Origin
Requests may originate from:
- Managed proxy infrastructure
- Cloud hosting providers (e.g., AWS)
- Static outbound IP addresses (available upon request)
If required, we can provide specific IP ranges for whitelisting.
Crawl Behavior
sMediaBot:
- Accesses only publicly available inventory pages
- Does not access login-protected content
- Does not submit forms
- Respects robots.txt where required
- Uses controlled request rates to avoid server strain
Data Usage
Data collected is used exclusively for:

We do not resell or redistribute scraped data.
